Eyelid surgery

Eyelid surgery

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to remove drooping or loose eyelids and the surgeon removes excess fat, muscle or skin. As you age, excess fat builds up above and below your eyelids, causing drooping eyebrows, puffiness under the eyes, and drooping eyelids. Severe sagging of the skin impairs peripheral vision, especially the external and upper visual field. In eyelid surgery, these problems are eliminated and the eyes become younger, more alert and fresher. Puffy eyelid surgery is the most common type of eyelid surgery.

Eyelid surgery is sometimes therapeutic and is essential for improving vision, health and comfort of the eye, although some patients prefer to have blepharoplasty for more beautiful face and eyes to minimize the

signs of aging. Most applicants for eyelid surgery are in the age range of 35 to 64 years.

If drooping or sagging eyelids prevent the eyes from fully opening or pull the lower eyelids down, cosmetic eyelid surgery can be performed to correct these problems. Removing extra tissue from the upper eyelid, lower eyelid or both eyelids improves vision and makes the eyes more beautiful and younger.

Blepharoplasty corrects the following problems:

Excess puffiness or skin under the upper and lower eyelids

Drooping or puffy eyelids

Impaired peripheral vision due to the presence of extra skin on the upper eyelid

White under the iris due to drooping lower eyelid

Risk factors such as dry eye, ocular thyroid disease and diabetes question the appropriateness of eyelid cosmetic surgery. The ophthalmologist examines the patient's medical history, clinical signs, severity, and number of problems and conditions to ensure that there is no contraindication or risk of blepharoplasty.
